It has been so long since I have written you. So much has happened and so much to write about that I do not know where to begin… You are such a big girl now!! From my first tears in seeing your face that Friday night, to laying next to you tonight staring at the moon, each moment with you has brought a new blessing into the my life. I am amazed that in 11 months my life has been completely overhauled. I can honestly say that I was overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions that it became hard to process them into words, but I will try to begin again and let you know my thoughts so that one day, you will gain some insight into how it all came to be.
We named you Kaia Grace as a tribute to God’s “Pure” grace he granted us in you. Never did I imagine that you would be my saving “Grace” in life. You have given this lost soul so much purpose. My compass has pointed towards self fulfillment, now that compass always points towards you. With each day that passes, a new chamber of my heart opens and I find myself in awe of the power of love.
Tonight was a funny. As I got home, your eyes lit up and you began to walk over to me. Grandma was pooped from watching you day and you still had some leftover energy. As we started playing our laugh became synchronized with each one outdueling the other as we wrestled on the floor. I wished that moment could have been frozen in bottle and shared with the whole world. The love expressed between a parent and child is euphoric. It would end all wars and hunger, bitterness and deceit; it is simply heaven on earth when I spend time with you.
In just 11 short months you have taken my heart to places I never knew were possible…
